Soft & Moist Bakery-Style Cake


📝 Ingredients

🧁 For the Cake Sponge

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk (room temperature)
  • ½ cup oil or melted butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • ¼ tsp salt

🍶 Sugar Syrup (for soft texture)

  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tbsp sugar

🍦 Cream Frosting

  • 2 cups chilled whipping cream
  • 4 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

(Optional: chocolate chips or fruit filling)


👩‍🍳 Instructions

✅ Step 1: Prepare Oven

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Grease an 8-inch cake pan and line with baking paper.

✅ Step 2: Mix Wet Ingredients

In a bowl:

  1. Beat eggs and sugar for 4–5 minutes until light and fluffy.
  2. Add oil (or butter).
  3. Add vanilla essence.
  4. Mix well.

✅ Step 3: Add Dry Ingredients

In another bowl combine:

  • Flour
  • Baking powder
  • Salt

Gradually add dry ingredients into wet mixture while adding milk slowly.

👉 Mix gently — do not overmix.


✅ Step 4: Bake

  • Pour batter into pan.
  • Tap pan lightly to remove air bubbles.
  • Bake 30–35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Cool completely.


✅ Step 5: Make Sugar Syrup

  • Heat water + sugar until dissolved.
  • Cool completely.

Brush this syrup over cake layers for extra softness.


✅ Step 6: Prepare Cream Frosting

  1. Beat chilled whipping cream.
  2. Add powdered sugar + vanilla.
  3. Whip until stiff peaks form.

✅ Step 7: Assemble Cake

  1. Slice cake into layers.
  2. Brush syrup on each layer.
  3. Spread whipped cream evenly.
  4. Cover entire cake with cream.
  5. Decorate with chocolate, fruits, or piping designs.
